Instructions for completing the SLM Loan application:

1. Visit the SLM Financial website at https://www.salliemae.com/ctl
   
   
2. Choose the state in which your school is located - Ohio.

3. Choose Brighton College, Hudson, OH as the school you will be attending.

4. The contact person at the school is Selinda McCumbers.

5. Enrollment period is ___/___/___ to ___/___/___. For the beginning date choose the date 3 days from the day you fill out the application. For the ending date, choose the date exactly nine months later.
   
   Example: If you apply today, the enrollment period is 7/22/2008 to 4/22/2009.
   
   
6. Tuition amount - This will depend on the program you are enrolling in. Please call the Brighton office at 1-800-231-3803 if you need assistance with the correct tuition.
   
   
7. Additional expense amount is your choice, but max is 60% of tuition amount: $ ___________.

9. Term of the loan (repayment term in years) is your choice. The longer the loan term (choose from 1 - 15 years max), the smaller the monthly payments.
   
   
10. Repayment Options - You may choose interest only, deferred, or neither. The maximum number of months for interest only and deferred is 12.
    
    
11. Graduation date is ___/___/___. This date should be the same as your enrollment ending date chosen above. It will be approximately nine months and 3 days from the day you apply for the loan. You may take additional time to complete your program of study - this date only affects the disbursement amount from SLM to Brighton College for your tuition. When entering income information, please provide the MONTHLY income.
    
    Example: if you applied today, the graduation date is 4/22/2009
    
    
12. Disbursement date is ___/___/___. Even though there are 6 entries for this information, you will only fill out the first one and the date will be the same date you chose for your enrollment beginning date above (3 days from today).

14. It is now time to call Brighton College toll free at 1-800-231-3803 and notify Selinda that you are ready to apply for your Sallie Mae loan. She will ask for your phone number and your email address, along with which program you are enrolling, so that we may follow up with you and Sallie Mae to expedite your loan and enrollment. If you are not able to contact Selinda by phone between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST, please email her at loans@brightoncollege.edu.

To maximize the efficiency of the online process, we highly recommend that the borrower and cosigner are prepared to complete the application in one sitting. There is an option to "Save for Later" at the bottom of the "Credit Results Page"; choosing this option will dramatically slow down the application process.

In addition, the following items will also be required when applying on-line:

Borrower:

1. Your driver's license number (if you do not have a license, enter N/A)
2. Your email address
3. Prior address (if you have moved in the last year)
4. Two references (name, address, and phone number).
5. Disbursement dates/amounts (school will provide this to you)
6. The co-signer's e-mail address (if applicable)

Co-borrower:

1. Borrower's first and last name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth
2. Confirmation number and pin (borrower is provided this information to be presented to co-signer).
3. Your driver's license number (if you do not have a license, enter N/A)
4. One reference (name, address, and phone number).
5. Your e-mail address (if you do not have an email address, enter N/A)

Note: the borrower will need to contact the co-signer with the confirmation number and PIN to allow the co-signer to apply. SLM will provide instructions to the co-signer on how to apply, but can not provide the confirmation number and PIN.

If a borrower or co-signer "Saves for Later" during their initial application process, in order to complete the loan application at a later time, they must go to www.slmfinancial.com and choose "Lookup Previous Decision", select loan and log in. Once logged in, select "Loans in Process", select loan. Credit decision and rates and fees will be displayed, if approved. Borrower or co-signer should select one of the first 2 options to complete their loan application.
