Your job opportunities will be good! Employment for medical coders and medical billers is projected to grow faster than average for all occupations through 2014.

Earnings*

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, medical billers had median hourly earnings of $13.00 in May 2004 and medical coders had median hourly earnings of $12.50 in May 2004. The majority of medical coders and billers are hourly employees at a physicians’ office.
