What is a Medical Transcriptionist?

As a medical transcriptionist you will listen to dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and transcribe the information into medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative material. A transcriptionist uses a foot pedal to pause the recording while transcribing, and keys the text into a personal computer or word processor, editing as necessary for grammar and clarity.

The following are a few of the concepts you will learn in our online medical transcription training courses and medical transcriptionist training program:

  • Keyboarding
  • Business English
  • Medical Terminology
  • Human Diseases
  • Anatomy & Physiology*
  • Beginning Medical Transcription
  • Advanced Medical Transcription

We understand starting your medical transcription career is your ultimate goal. We will help you build your resume and cover letter. Our staff is dedicated to assisting you in your job search.
