CiscoThe Cisco Certificate is designed for the IT professional who is looking to advance their career from simple desktop and hardware support to more of an entry level IT Administrator role. The program covers the strategies and techniques that are required to design, deploy, and maintain an efficient network in a modern workplace. The program also focuses on the role of the IT Administrator in protecting digital assets through advanced routing security protocols.

This program is also ideal for those who have completed our CompTIA Program.

Cisco Certificate Program Overview

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic topologies (examples include Bus, Star, Ring and Mesh)
  • Differentiate Data Link and Network Addresses
  • Understand how to translate logical addresses into physical addresses
  • Know the differences between the protocols TCP/IP, IPX, and AppleTalk
  • Explain the three basic services of the Application Layer
  • Compare and contrast LAPB and HDLC (Cisco Proprietary)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the 5 basic dialer map steps for configuring DDR
  • Demonstrate the relationship between access lists and packet

Employment of computer support specialists is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. More support services will be needed as organizations upgrade their computer equipment and software. Computer support staff will be needed to respond to the installation and repair requirements of increasingly complex computer equipment and software. However, a rise in cloud computing could increase the productivity of computer support specialists, slowing their growth at many firms. Smaller businesses that do not have information technology (IT) departments will contract services from IT consulting firms and increase the demand for computer support specialists in those firms. Employment of support specialists in computer systems design and related firms is projected to grow 31 percent from 2014 to 2024.
